BIO:
As far as I can remember, I’ve had a steady love for body movement. Yoga, dance, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and climbing, running, and weightlifting have kept me engaged in bodily kinesthetics. As a young adult I began to experience physical pain due to repetitive injuries and stress, including chronic neck, shoulder, and pelvic pain.
My journey towards healing led me to discover the profound benefits of massage therapy— not only for my physical body but also for my mental and spiritual well-being. This propelled me to study various forms of bodywork and energy healing in both Eastern and Western traditions. My commitment to learning and love for travel led me to study with renowned teachers from various disciplines all over the world. I have dedicated my passions to understand self and help others realize their mind-body connection.
Through yoga, bodywork, and breath-work, I offer somatic methods for stress & chronic pain management so others can live life with ease and remain active in the pursuits they love! In addition to my practice, I am a continued education provider! I have been facilitating trainings for yoga teachers and bodyworkers for over a decade.
My practice is client-centered and adaptive, drawing from experience working with a wide range of demographics, including athletes, older adults, individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, and those living with chronic pain, anxiety, and depression.
My background in social work and training in polyvagal somatic therapy, trauma-informed yoga, and Reiki energy healing deepen my understanding of how thought forms, emotions, and movement patterns influence our nervous systems and shape our lived experiences.
Through the lens of the body, we discover corners where we hold pain, trauma, shame, and grief. Often, this is in congruence with the physical pain we experience.
I believe that pain carries the potential for healing, and in our suffering, there is a seed of joy. By reconnecting with the body, we can access our innate capacity for growth, transformation, and ease.
EXPERIENCE:
Unlike the Western medical academy, there does not exist a corresponding institution of higher learning in yoga & bodywork. Instead are various schools of practice and students who learn through close apprenticeship with a teacher. I have over 2000 hours of study in anatomy, kinesiology, applied yoga therapy, and massage therapy.
